Date, Cashew and Caramel Slice of Love
It’s arduous to not love a caramel slice. It’s particularly a pleasant treat to create for somebody you would like to spoil. I will think about a special person you’ll wish to spoil this weekend. - ¾ cup meal or ground almonds (100gm) for protein free
- ¾ cup (50gm) sugarless coconut thread
- 2 Table spoon chocolate (brogan) or a chic Dutch cocoa
- ½ cup raw almonds
- 6-8 dates (or what is left of the 500gm packet below, used for the filling)
- 6-8 Tablespoons thawed vegetable oil or thawed butter
- salt (1/4 teaspoon)
- 400gm dates
- ¾ cup water
- 2 cups softened cashews ( either soak nightlong or place into a pot. simply cowl with water and simmer for ten minutes, drain and leave to cool)
- ¼ cup Pure syrup (approx eighty ml)
- ½ cup thawed butter or vegetable oil (100ml)
- 150 metric weight unit semi-sweet chocolate
- 1 tablespoon neutral oil
- ½ cup shredded walnuts
** I used one hundred metric weight unit semi-sweets chocolate and one hundred metric weight unit cream as a softer icing makes the slice cut higher
- 1st set the kitchen appliance to 180C/ 350F. Line a 10in x seven in or 325cm x 17cm rectangular tin with high sides or a brownie tin.
- Place the coconut, cocoa, almonds, oats or almond meal and dates into the kitchen appliance and blitz until fine. Add half dozen Tablespoons of the coconut or thawed butter and mix once more. Add the rest if the mixture appearance terribly dry and not setting out to stay.
- Unfold onto very cheap of the tin and bake for 15-20 minutes or till setting out to go golden round the edges. Cool slightly then chill or freeze for up to one hour. The filling will be created and left until the bottom is prepared.

- To create the filling softens the cashews by either preparation or soaking. Place the dates into a pot with the water. Simmer on low until the dates begin to urge soft. Combine them and that they can develop into a purée. Cool. Add the dates, cashews syrup, vanilla and butter or vegetable oil, into the processor and mix, scraping down the perimeters and blitzing once more till terribly sleek.
